The President of the Republic, Paul Biya has saluted the memory of the late Paramount ruler of the Bafaw people in the South West region, Nfon Victor Mukete who passed away last Saturday April 10 at the age of 103.
In a condolence letter addressed to His Majesty Ekoko Mukete, successor of the late Nfon, the Head of State says the death of the Nfon is a great loss to the Meme Division in the South West region in particular and Cameroon as a whole.
“I salute the memory of this emblematic figure of the political scene of our country…His Majesty Nfon Victor Mukete was undoubtedly one of the last privileged witnesses of the independence and reunification of Cameroon…”
President Biya further indicates in his letter that Senator Nfon Mukete’s long and rich experience in the political field, in the economic sector as well as his status as a traditional ruler have always earned him consideration and respect.
He ends by urging youths to tap from the late Nfon’s exceptional career and patriotic legacy to make Cameroon a better nation.
The Nfon who was the eldest member of the Senate died early Saturday April 10 at the age of 103, an exit many have described as glorious.
